Make Sure Your Content Is Not Only Good, but Consistent
As you must know by now, your business needs well-written content. Time and again, surveys tell us that companies (large and small) invest more each year in this area as they strive to improve. Yet a piece of content, by itself, will not get the job done and is only a part of a much larger jigsaw. So if you’re looking for long-term results, you need a long-term strategy in place or, in other words, a Content Master Plan.
From a content point of view, marketers often use the funnel philosophy. Imagine a typical funnel with a larger diameter at the top than the bottom. Divide this funnel into three (top, middle and bottom) and devise your content accordingly.

Each piece of content is written for a specific purpose and will also help with search engine rankings as time goes by. What Are the Individual Components of These Plans?
Silo Support Blog Posts
A “silo” is simply a way of structuring content on your website so that it makes sense to your reader, flows logically and helps with SEO. It’s a powerful way to present educational and informational content, to show that you are an authority in your field and to move prospects further along the funnel.
In the Content Master Plan, Car Copy will create a series of blog posts each month, complete with an appropriate image for you to place on your website’s blog. Each blog post will be relevant to your product or service, and we will take the time to understand your operation, develop a content calendar and agree on the approach with you before we commence.
Silo Category Blog Posts
These posts will be more involved and have a higher word count than the Silo Support blog posts. They will be a lot more in-depth but will relate to the Support blog posts, in context and through links.
We will probably need to consult with your subject matter experts to develop individual pieces of this plan. We’ll always create the content in line with your branding strategy and “voice” and ensure that it clearly reflects your expertise.
Silo Head White Papers
These are strong authority pieces, which will really highlight your understanding and expertise in your niche. They will typically be around 2,500 words long and will also link to the Category and, in turn, Support posts.
These white papers (along with the Category blog posts) will be less frequent, but all pieces of content will be strategically linked from both a pure content point of view and an SEO approach. The accompanying graphic may make it easier to understand how this flows together.

Authority Articles
Not to be confused with blog posts, these pieces of content may not actually live on your site at all. They may appear on other sites as a “guest” post, and we will work with you to identify these sites or other publications that may be of interest.
This part of the strategy helps to develop relationships with third party organisations, whether within the same industry or the media. By linking with these parties, you can further improve your reach, cement your authority and receive valuable backlinks.
Positioning Infographics
Infographics are powerful marketing tools. After all, people love images and are known to favour lists, and this strategy brings both together. We will work with your subject matter experts to develop infographics that tell a particular story, present your information in graphic form and represent a great branding solution. Some organisations even choose to make infographics downloadable or allow other sites to embed them.
Outreach Email Campaigns
Emails are also powerful marketing tools, and here, we will draw up a campaign with you and write an email sequence. You may want to place one of your top-level pieces of content (such as a White Paper) behind a “gate.” Visitors to your site will then provide you with their email address before they access this content. You will then have permission to send emails as part of the campaign.
Several emails, as part of a typical campaign, will be educational or informational in tone. You may seek to sell a product, service, free exploratory phone call or other solution within another email. Either way, we’ll work with you to determine the best approach before we start.
Press Release and Distribution
A well-written press release will often make a journalist’s job a lot easier. They are constantly on the lookout for a good story to make their lives a little easier and sometimes publish a press release verbatim.
We will work with you to identify a good story with a strong hook and make sure that we distribute it to appropriate outlets within your sector and geographical area.

If you’ve never performed any keyword research, then we will start from scratch and do this for you. If you have completed this task in the past, we will have another look and upgrade if necessary. Working with our SEO partners, we look at the front and back end of your site and advise you of any needed alterations.
The goal is to ensure that your site ranks as highly as possible in the search engine ranking pages as possible for your chosen keywords.
Ranking Reports
With SEO in mind, we will create quarterly ranking reports, starting with the situation on day one. These will be based on individual keywords and will show you where your site ranks among your competitors.
Bear in mind, however, that it will often take several months before you see any change when you roll out a comprehensive campaign like this. Again, consistency is essential.
Managing Editor and Account Supervisor

Onboarding
